Ubersuggest In-Depth Review: Pros and Cons
This is going to be an in-depth review of Ubersuggest. I personally have used the product for some time and I’m going to share my personal experience overall. I’m going to very transparent and share all of the benefits and drawbacks of Ubersuggest. Feel free to leave a comment with your experience with Ubersuggest.
What is Ubersuggest?
Ubersuggest is a keyword tool that helps online businesses that are trying to rank on search engines like Google, YouTube or Amazon. It’s primarily used for SEO on Google. Ubersuggest has a free chrome extension, but this review will be based on the paid Ubersuggest app (app.neilpatel.com).
Ubersuggest can help businesses get an understanding of how the volume of searches for the keywords they are trying to rank for. Additionally, Ubersuggest provides insights into how competitive keywords are and what keywords competitors are ranking for.
It’s one of the most popular SEO tools on the market and many businesses use it to run their websites. Others include SEMrush, Ahrefs, Rankability.com and SurferSEO. This review will cover its features, pros and cons, pricing and how it can be used to bring value to businesses.
How do I use it?
I use Ubersuggest mainly for SEO purposes for this blog. I’ve been using it for a while and it’s worked pretty well for me.
When I evaluate a tool, I look mainly at the ROI. Can I at least make back what I spent on it after using it for my blog? If not, it’s not worth it.
There’s no point of having fancy features if it’s not driving real business metrics for you.
In my case, Ubersuggest helps me write about topics for my blog that get search traffic with low competition. I even used Ubersuggest to write a review about Ubersuggest.
As long as I’m writing blog topics, I’ll need a tool to help me with SEO. Currently, I’m using Ubersuggest because it’s the most cost-effective option for me.
How does it work?
The Ubersuggest app is pretty straight forward. You can access it by going to app.neilpatel.com.
Once you have signed up and got into the app, you can do several things.
You can start by entering a keyword into the search bar and Ubersuggest will show you search volume, competition, CPC and more.
You can also enter a competitor’s site in and see what keywords they are ranking for. This can help improve your content strategy dramatically.
The Ubersuggest app also allows you to create a project (track your website). This will help you see exactly how using Ubersuggest will help your organic traffic. Let’s cover the features of the app in-depth below.
Features:
Keyword Analyzer
The Keyword Analyzer is where you go to get insight on specific keywords in Ubersuggest. There are three main functions within Keyword Analyzer. The functions are:
- Keyword Overview: Keyword Overview is the main dashboard for Keyword Analyzer. This is where you will go to search specific keywords and get data. Some of the data you can see from Keyword Overview include search volume, SEO difficulty, paid difficulty and cost per click.
- Keyword Ideas: In the Keyword Ideas section, you will get all the similar keywords to your primary keyword. These similar keywords can be used to create similar content to your primary keyword and attract the same audience.
- Content Ideas: Content Ideas is where Ubersuggest will recommend what type of content you should write. This area will show you similar articles that have been written on your target keyword. Seeing similar articles will help you brainstorm what you should write.
Example of Keyword Analyzer:
Let’s throw all of the keyword functions above in an example. The example I will be using is for the term Ubersuggest. When I search for the term Ubersuggest this is what I get in Keyword Analyzer:
As you can see, the traffic for the term Ubersuggest is very high. Since many people are publishing content around Ubersuggest, the SEO difficulty is medium.
SEO difficulty is just a ranking from 1-100; the higher the number the more difficult it is to rank for. If you’re looking to write content that ranks, look for keywords that have lower difficulties.
If you scroll down after you search for the keyword, you should see the following table:
